BTEC In Health And Social Care

A BTEC is a practical work related course. The course will give you a good introduction to the heath and social care sectors. It gives you the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and understanding that you will need in the world of work. You will visit a select o commercial and catering service settings during the course. A BTEC at level 2 is the equivalent of 2 GCSE grades A to C.

What Do I Need Join?

This will be based on interview. Basic literacy and numeracy skills are required. Area Of Study Students following this course will take a number of units to prepare them for work within the Health And Social Care sector. Topics will include: Communication and individual rights within the Health And Social Care sectors Individual needs within a Health And Social Care Setting Equality and Diversity in society Health and safety Vocational experience in a Health And Social Care setting (60GLH)*

Assessment:

You will be assessed by a series of assignments which demonstrate your understanding of a number of learning outcomes at Pass, Merit and Distinction grade.

Weekly Commitment:

4 hours per week supportive teaching.

This is an intensive course and a minimum 80% attendance level vital.

* This course may include 60 hours of work experience for which CRB check is required.
